Also known as Medicare Part C, or MAs/MA-PDs. Medicare Advantage Plans, sometimes called “Part C” or “MA Plans,” are offered by private companies that have been approved by Medicare, and must abide by a set of rules set forth by Medicare.

Medicare Supplement Plans are offered by private insurance companies and available to individuals who are eligible for Medicare. A Medicare Supplement Plan will help limit out-of-pocket medical expenses such as copayments, coinsurance and deductibles

Also known as DSNPs. A D-SNP (Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan) is a type of Medicare Advantage health plan that is designed to meet the specific needs of dual-eligible beneficiaries who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid. The health plan includes doctor, hospital, and prescription drug coverage and some health plans may also offer extra benefits.

Drug programs that help pay for the high costs of prescription drugs. Medicare Part D is offered by private insurance companies and approved by Medicare for eligible recipients. Individuals on Medicare are eligible for prescription drug coverage under a Part D Medicare plan if they are signed up for benefits under Medicare Part A and or Part B.
